Warehouse Assistant (based in our Poole office)

We are currently seeking a motivated and organised Warehouse Assistant to join our small and friendly team in Poole. The role will see you dealing with all warehouse operations, to include; processing sales orders, picking, packing, despatch, goods inwards and stores. Some minor mechanical assembly of company products will be included too.

The ideal candidate would have recent and relevant warehouse experience in a similar role. Additionally, a keen eye for detail coupled with strong record keeping skills are key, along with excellent interpersonal skills as there will be a regular and ongoing need to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assembly of company products in accordance with written procedures.
  • Processing of sales orders using company stock management system.
  • Goods receiving using company stock management system.
  • Packing of goods and pallet wrapping for despatch.
  • Booking in of repairs and returns on company systems.
  • General warehouse duties.
  • You are required to carry out your duties in accordance with the company’s health & safety policies and procedures and adhere to all externally relevant health and safety laws.
  • Carry out other general duties which may be required and agreed with your line

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Recent Warehouse experience in a similar environment
  • Basic IT skills
  • Role involves lifting so must be physically fit
  • practical skills
  • organisational and record-keeping skills

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Software Engineer (based in our Poole office)

This position designs, develops, tests and installs software solutions.

The responsibility of a Software Engineers includes gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code using familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.

Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(Include but are not limited to)

  • Stay abreast of and promote new engineering approaches that may benefit the business.
  • Gather customer requirements, analyse, scope and produce high-level software designs.
  • To develop and maintain customer applications that run on our embedded products.
  • To design and develop bespoke customer integrations between our products and our customers both via embedded and server based applications.
  • Implement and carry out unit, integration and system testing.
  • Follow engineering practices that lead to the delivery of products that are secure and reliable by design.
  • Supporting and writing product and project documentation.
  • Writing operational documentation with technical authors.
  • Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, UX designers, other developers, systems analysts and sales and marketing professional.
  • You are required to carry out your duties in accordance with the company’s health & safety policies and procedures and adhere to all externally relevant health and safety laws.
  • Carry out other general duties which may be required and agreed with your line manager.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • BEng Degree in Computer Science or similar or equivalent experience
  • Python OO design and programming skills.
  • Android OO design and programming skills.
  • Familiar with technologies such as XML, SQL, web services, networking.
  • Experience of Eclipse or Android Studio, GIT.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Problem Solving/Analysis
  • Ability to work in a customer facing role, this may include technical training for a developer audience and meeting with senior stakeholders to gain their confidence and support.
  • Ability to analyse and document customer requirements.
  • Practically minded, not afraid of getting stuck in and hands on.
  • Self-starting team player with ability to prioritize a complex workload.
  • Willing and able to travel at short notice to meet customers both nationally and internationally.

Desirable:

  • Embedded Linux, C/C++ knowledge a bonus.
  • Familiar with Access Control and Workforce Management industries.
  • Strong understanding of embedded, server, cloud, mobile and security technologies.
  • Experience working in an agile product development environment.
  • Hardware / Electronics knowledge.
